SPIROL Introduces New Press-N-Lok™ Pin

SPIROL is pleased to announce the expansion of their Solid Pin Product Line to include the new Press-N-Lok™ Pin. The Press-N-Lok™ Pin was designed to permanently retain two plastic components to each other.

Automotive Glove Compartment Handle

The customer was using a semi-tubular rivet as a hinge pin in their glove compartment handle application. They were experiencing major problems during the crimping operation of the rivet, and requested a fastener that would meet the application requirements and eliminate the crimping problems.

SPIROL Coiled Spring Pins

Engineering replaced the long semi-tubular rivet with two Coiled Spring Pins. The standard duty Coiled Spring Pin was chosen for this application because it provided a similar "feel" as the rivet when the hinge was actuated.

The Coiled Spring Pin is self-retaining which eliminated the need for crimping to ensure that the pin remains in the hole.
